Yes, the mythical story of how everybody is avoiding Boots Ennis is starting to look a bit shaky and not the full truth and nothing but the truth. I really like Boots as a fighter but I think he is lacking on the business side of things. There has to be a reason why somebody who is 33-0 has never fought a top 5 opponent. For all talent and natural ability, he is always crying poor and claiming nobody wants to fight him. If he continues like this he will be another incredible talent going to waste by never challenging himself and fighting his equal in the ring. Starting to look like Andrade a bit.

So Shakur Stevenson is fighting Cordina next, then Zepeda. But who is Tank fighting next for that period of time Shakur's unavailability? It does look like Tank Davis can fight anyone he chooses and there's not much opposition from fans. That's how it looks like. Bearing in mind Stevenson had no rep of ducking anyone. Why the attack on one and nothing on the other?

Shakur is almost the same age as Boots. He turned pro right after the 2016 Olympics. Boots turned pro around the same time.
Many many times, Breadman has explained in intricate details how fights and politics manifest in boxing and how certain matchups don’t happen, there are people here that harbor toxic hate towards Shakur. The same is true for Boots.

I could go down memory lane and you’ll see a similar pattern from casuals and people that don’t seem to grasp certain elements about boxing.

If Boots does not unify at least two belts by end of 2025, then I’d be inclined to fault him. Boots is not doing what Canelo is doing. He just signed with match room and hopefully that leads to the fights we wanna see.

I hope we see Boots against a live body and a real threat soon. He is so good, we just need to have a good measuring stick to see how he responds when he is a in ring with a top 5 fighter or another champion. My guess is he will do well, but I am starting to think he is running out of time and excuses to blame other people for lack of meaningful fights.
