Those two need to run it back. If most boxing fans thought the wrong man won. I wasn’t one of those fans but there still should be a rematch because the decision was so controversial.

However, the vast majority of boxing fans didn’t see it that way. I thought Vergil was the busier of the two fighters who landed the cleaner punches with a much higher punch volume.Last edited by champion4ever; 08-20-2024, 06:27 AM.Comment

I'll respectfully disagree here.
Vergil changed to a very effective stick and move strategy in Round 8 or 9 that literally had Bohachuk on his heels.
It was stick and move with a hard jab, too.
I didn't know Vergil had that kind of boxing ability. If he had started doing it earlier he might have finished Bohuchuk.
I didn't see Bohachuk make game-changing adjustments like that.
Vergil FTW if he can apply more of that in a rematch.
Going to be interesting to see how he continues to perform in this weight class where he should been have a looong time ago.Last edited by slimPickings; 08-20-2024, 10:04 AM.Comment

Serhii gassed a little and that may have cost him, but I thought the fight as a draw. It was close, the money man got the nod. I highly doubt that Ortiz will do a rematch with Serhii because he's young and bankable and win or lose most fighters only have 3, maybe 4 of those types of fights. Honestly, I wouldn't put Ortiz in with Serhii or Crawford or any top 5 guy for a good while. Ortiz has the belt and I'd try to get him in with a PBC fighter because the entire stable are easier fights.
As for Serhii, he isn't exactly a big draw so I wouldn't be surprised if he's fights another tough fight. Madrimov is another guy with the same problem and both need a belt so facing one another probably isn't on the top of their list but for the right price.....it's a phenomenal match-up.

Yeah that tends to happen when you finally come to the realization that you cannot bulldoze your way to a victory against someone just as BIG as you are in your new weight class!!!

Madrimov and Ennis have too much depth for Virgil Ortiz. Virgil is young and bankable, Oscar will have him fight a winnable mandatory and stretch his career out for a mega money fight. Fighting Madrimov and Ennis right now would be reckless .Comment

Not Vergil, Bohachuk.Turki wants an opponent for him, so I was suggesting Madrimov or Ennis. Honestly, Eddie should be making Madrimov vs. Ennis. In no shape, form, or fashion, should Ennis rematch Karen! That would be disrespectful to the fans, and wild disrespectful to Philly!Last edited by Bronx2245; 08-20-2024, 12:12 PM.Comment

But then again, I'm a sucker for the b-side surprising the a-side in most cases.Comment
