I am guessing he has made enough money from his last fight with Canelo and has now lost motivation to keep fighting. I have noticed over the years, a lot of fighters do that. It was always their dream to have enough "Fuuuccckkk You Money" so they can do what they like and once their reach that level, they stop. The usual excuse they mention - they can no longer put up with another grueling camp to prepare for another fight.

I thought something was up when I saw Shakur sitting with Eddie and Turki ringside for the Ortiz Bohachuk fight. I am not surprised it is a one fight deal but I am disappointed that Shakur has gone back to doing irrelevant fights that nobody wants to see. Just like his last fight. Calling out big names and then he does this, again? It has to be on the undercard. Who would pay money to watch that?Shakur Stevenson vs. Joe Cordina Set for October 12th in Riyadh

Turki giving Shakur an easy layup, an opponent moving up in weight, and coming off a loss by KO! If Shakur can’t shine, I think he’ll never be a PPV fighter!

What bothers me about Vergil's fight was how many rounds it took him in an inside fight with Bohachuk, at best breaking even or possibly having a win slip away before he changed it up. Maybe he got used to believing he could just b*a*n*g away like always. Yeah his face showed the wear and tear but it didn't have to be like that. Better late than never I guess.
Correct. Bohachuk didn't. But he could? Dude knocked down Virgil twice, with little to no adjustment, and Virgil's face def looked like the loser (not saying he lost, but he was beat up). If, if, Bohachuk could change it up a bit, I like his chances.
But then again, I'm a sucker for the b-side surprising the a-side in most cases.Last edited by Left Hook Louie; 08-20-2024, 08:43 PM.Comment

Could Bohachuk stick and move? I don't know, haven't seen him fight anyone other than Vergil and Mendoza. But if he can marginally (or arguably) beat Vergil at his own pressure game, yeah, maybe he can at least match him in other ways. I hope we see a rematch and find out.

Lara isn't losing to Danny and would torture Keef.
Thurman only wanted a payday against Spence at 147 - he'll have looked at Bud's and Ortiz's fights at 154 and concluded he is ready for the tough-outs at JMW. But the way boxing is he could just jump 154 and fight the winner of Lara-Garcia - that'd actually be an easier fight than Bohachuk or Fundora. But I'm with you - he's done!Comment

Karen will have Boots swinging at air for 12 rounds again. Not Vergil, Bohachuk.Turki wants an opponent for him, so I was suggesting Madrimov or Ennis. Honestly, Eddie should be making Madrimov vs. Ennis. In no shape, form, or fashion, should Ennis rematch Karen! That would be disrespectful to the fans, and wild disrespectful to Philly!Comment
154 looking good now, Charlo should also take advantage and work a bounce back fight.
