Either way, thats not even the point. The point is that while Oscar could have handpicked his opponents, he had that leverage, he fought the best. I have so much respect for that.

I can only hope Mayweather eventually does that.
It doesn't matter how he became a star, it's not about that. Mayweather is a star. Oscar has been a draw since the beginning of his career, but the fact that his biggest fight was against Mayweather cannot be denied.

I agree though, the handpicking is ridiculous. He has the ability to fight anyone he wants and always seems to go the easiest route. Oscar gets a lot of points from me for that. He put a lot of food on a lot of plates. He's a throwback and even though he rises in weight, Mayweather isn't.

But Mayweather invented that. Of course it helps, but he is credited with the creation so you can't use that as an excuse because it's still there. But really though, Oscar is not good tv, it would be his opponents selling the fights if he ever had it.

Oscar was the man back then, I've seen much of his ealier stuff. I respect the opposition he has faced; even in losing, he continued to draw. But we all have to admit, Mayweather is coming close to reaching that kind of status.

Oscar fought Trinidad ten years ago and continued fighting great fighters after that.
De La Hoya started fighting major names and dangerous fighters by age 24. Mayweather started a "real career" at 30 with just two fights before retiring.

                  What about Quartey?

                  What about Molina?

Did an overrated and I really mean overrated Oscar cherrypicked those 4?

And, for the record Mosley was LW you are right. But, Mosley was a proven top 147lbs after he beat Rivera.

So did he cherrypick Mosley too?
he cherrypicked TITO, fought him when TITO was struggling to make 147 and ready to move up in weight. Then RAN from him in the fight and for the rest of his carreer, never wanting a rematch. Ruealas was hojas' biggest win, even though Ruealas was nothing special. Sweet Pea was an old 135lbs x-champ that knocked joto down and made him look silly, and lost the decsion. WOW!! Molina beat him fair and square.. while on the down-slide... IKE got punked into training to fight on a certain date with joto and joto pulled out at the last minute claiming injury, while IKE was peaking and joto NOT, screwing IKE. ( oh and joto got knocked down if i remember correctly) ...And to finish off quickly.. SSM was smaller, PBF was smaller, PACMAN was WAY SMALLER!!!! and joto got beat up by all of them.. while running from MARGARITO, COTTO, P.WILLIAMS ETC.ETC.
