This is what I'm talking about. Tim did not go the Fundora route, he went the Thurman route. Fundora was never his druther.

Just business. That’s what his manager meant when he said he was looking after his fighter.

He doing exactly what Crawford is doing, picking the low hanging fruit whilst he can knowing the bigger money unification fights are to follow most likely with Saudi money behind them.

Crawford Tszyu is easily the best fight that can be made at 154 in my opinion. Makes sense for it to be for undisputed.
I agree this is the best fight to be made, but I don't agree with the assumption that Tim turned the Crawford fight down. Why would Crawford want to fight Tim right now when he does not even have the belt? Crawford wants to be undisputed in his third weight division. Fighting a guy who does not have a belt (you can read Tim Tszyu or even Boots Ennis) does not make any sense. Assuming Tim wins the next fight and gets the IBF belt, he will then be on Bud's radar screen for a unification.

Honestly, I completely forgot about Thurman lol. Fundora was a clear upgrade. But yes, that actually strengthens the point that TC isn't anyone's first option.

The NBA just finished a 10-year 80 billion dollar deal to showcase its games on three platforms: Amazon (Prime) ABC (ESPN) and NBC ( Pea****). Those three networks just happen to carry the two most popular sports in America which are football and basketball. Pro and College. All of the games of the NBA will be shown 7 nights a week on one of those 3 networks. Shouldn't be hard to mix boxing in with fut...football and basketball since those fanbases are the same as boxing. Hopefully we will see some cross-promo fights against TR (ESPN) and maybe even some PBC vs Queensbury on Pea****. You never know....doe!!
That is a good point on waiting for the NBA deal to firm up. Boxing is popular, but any NBA package would get top priority. Better for Amazon to know how to long term plan events so as not to interfere with their roundball obligations.

He got an email title and couldn't hold that and still the talk about him ruling the roost. I never saw a guy get buddy roughed and people still sing his praises with no doubts.
People who understand boxing can see what he does well and he got beat by a freak cut nothing else. I still consider him unbeaten in that regard. The cut lost him the fight and didn’t result from skill of any sort. It’s the way he’s beating fighters that’s impressive, I suggest you watch again.

And as far as there being a garden of low hanging fruit, I’m sorry if you don’t really understand the expression. It means the easiest pick. I’d say out of Crawford, Fundora and Murtazaliev, Murtazaliev is the easiest option. That makes him the low hanging fruit.

Until someone beats Tszyu conclusively entirely by their own effort he’s still the best at 154lbs in my opinion especially after Crawford’s less than spectacular entry into the division. Charlo is retired pretty much and was on the slide anyway. Spence was done at 147. Tszyu would’ve stopped Fundora had it not been for the cut. Ortiz hasn’t carried his power up to 154 and gets countered too easily.

Tim Tszyu is in negotiations with who?

Where in the world is Jermell Charlo? Has he retired?
