I don't think so. He never proved himself really.

He never once won a big fight.

All coaches should understand fundamentals but its so much more than that. I see few great trainers now a days.
The best was Emmanuel Stewart & Cus d’Amato. Today id say Sugar Hill, Loma’s Dad & even though Im not fond of Tank. I think his trainer (Calvin Ford) is damn good. Tank has improved drastically over the last 5 years.
Sugar hill hasn’t really done anything, he just cashing in off his uncle’s last name. Living off Manny and Fury’s success

Garcia is no doubt, one of the best.
I enjoy listening to him talk about other fighters too.

There’s another great trainer in the same area, who deserves a ton of respect, Rudy Hernandez.

OK Bam over Estrada you're MAYBE right about that. It's possibly a BIG fight. But I was thinking about proper big fights. Always seems to come up short. But to be fair to him he was fighting the absolute best of the era in Manny and Floyd and Usyk etc.

The win over Cruz isnt a big fight really.

(Looking at you sideways) seems you don’t understand the sport? When one of the top guys in a division or THE top guy in a division loses, that’s a big win for any respective division. Robert has guided some good fighters.

Umm, your not watching his fighters fight. They adapt well and have solid skills. Little bad habits except for arrogant Fury. Who should of EASILY won that last fight.

Is Garcia a Trainer of the Year candidate right now? Jesse Rodriguez, Vergil Ortiz, Jose Valenzuela, Raymond Muratalla, Jose Carlos Ramirez, Oscar Duarte, Giovanni Santillan....who else is part of his gym?

Off-topic, I still remember his fight against Chico Corrales. I think it was on the undercard of a Tyson fight. He was a pretty damn good fighter in addition to being a great trainer.
