it might be fair if one of these unheralded guys actually took one of these 'close fight' calls now and then

virgil then claims after the fight

"I’m the best in the world,” he said after claiming the WBC 'interim' super-welterweight belt

LOL ok virgil whatever u say just watch your balance from now on

I could see it anyway: here's the thing: Judges do not have to give a 10-8 round for a knockdown do they ( I don't know)? If they don't, going on that assumption for now, in either one of those rounds where Boha scored a knockdown, the rest of the round could have gone to Ortiz... Maybe that made it just a one point margin on at least one of those 10-8 rounds? Just a thought.

He wins a tough fight vs #7 ranked Bohachuck while suffering two knockdowns, and he thinks he's the best in the world? Alrighty then!

Yes, Bohachuck must not have gotten 10-8 scoring in those two rounds. That's the only explanation. I would love to see the judges scores for each round to better understand.

I agree with this and I was rooting for Virgil , but knew the scoring was going to be interesting as I felt Ortiz swept the championship rounds ...They basically gave him the nod in every round that could have been considered close . It was a good fight , run it back .....

That is correct. The only way one can have Bohachuk winning by a score of 114-112 then they would have had to have Serhii winning by more than 5 rounds.

Which I never did. There weren’t six rounds I could have given Bohachuk. The judges got it right this time. The right man won.

Yeah but I mean the unheralded guy isn't even winning the poll in this thread

It's definitely deserving of a rematch. Scorewise I 100% agree with the thread starters score but although they were both hurting each other, I feel Ortiz took more damage.

Yeah I agreed with the decision. Ortiz did a good job stealing some rds the last 30seconds. I've been harsh on Ortiz, dude was kinda set up for that fighting 2rds in over 2yrs.
