I agree Jermell is a useless idiot but if he could be persuaded to get into the ring, he has what Crawford most values. Crawford cares about lineal championships more than anything else and until he is stripped for inactivity Charlo is the reigning lineal, TBRB, and Ring world champion.

Right now Crawford is one of 9 men in the history of boxing to become a 3 division lineal world champion (Bob Fitzsimmons, Henry Armstrong, Barney Ross, Tony Canzoneri, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Manny Pacquiao, and Crawford).

If Crawford becomes lineal at 154 he'll be a four division champion, and so far only Floyd and Manny have ever done that. Charlo is the quickest route there.

If Charlo does get stripped then Crawford has to win a fight between the consensus #1 and the consensus #2 to get that lineal title, which likely entails beating the winner of Fundora/Spence and then the winner of Tszyu/Murtazaliev. And that's if he doesn't take an interim fight against Ortiz or someone else while he waits.

How long must Jermell be inactive in order to be stripped?

I'm pretty sure if he doesn't announce a fight before the end of the year he'll be stripped by both the Ring and TBRB. Probably even sooner than that.

The California State Athletic Commission states that a fighter cannot rehydrate more than 15% of the contractual weight.

Crawford weight approximately 154 and on fight night. He weighed approximately 170 lbs which is well within the legal limit.

You also conveniently left out that Israil Madrimov weighed in close to 170 lbs on fight night too but I almost forgot that doesn’t fit your narrative.

Bohachuk should have won and deserves a rematch. Madrimov clearly lost, so no rematch.
