No one is saying Canelo is standing up for boxing. He is simply standing up for himself. I definitely do not think that Turki is an oppressor as he's actually offering boxers more than any other promoter and I haven't read a post that states that Ginger is standing up for Boxing.

Many figures in Boxing, kissing Turki's a$$ seems to be what is rubbing fans the wrong way. Turki could have easily respected Ginger's position to wait till after he fought Berlanga. Why didn't Turki respectfully agree to resume negotiations after Ginger's upcoming scrap? Instead, the man starts acting like a jaded teenage girl on social media. How do you respond to that? Also, I think it was in this forum that a poster claimed that the Saudis are attempting to Sports-wash past and present government suppression and abysmal human rights record through Boxing. Benavidez fight ain't happening.....ever, Benny too fat to make 168 and Crawfish is too small.

At this point, Nelo should just clean up the remainder of 168 division, call out Andre Ward out of retirement for a fight in 2025, and then do a business fight with Jake Paul with Turki's help.

I've never heard him say that he could do whatever he wants. I've heard him say that he can fight who he wants on his terms, two different things. I don't like it but he's put himself in a position to set his fights on his terms and at least for the time being, he has the fan base to do just that. Do I consider him a boxing king? Hell no! If he's actually said that he's the king of boxing, fack him! Not sure that he has though. Would I compare him to SRL, Hearns and the others you just mentioned? Hell no!

Did he go out of his way to insult Turki? I don't think so. I did hear him say that he'd be happy to negotiate after his upcoming bout. I'm glad he didn't kiss Turki's bottom and disrespect Berlanga by negotiating before hand. Screw Turki for getting his feelings hurt. I'm glad some boxers, if only a few or a couple, have the integrity to not cave in to the financial influence that Turki has.

Will I be buying the upcoming Canelo fight? No! Do I like that he's playing hard to get for the Benavidez fight? No! Does the fact that Canelo is in control of his boxing future bring me joy? I don't give a shi!t, there are plenty of other boxers that I can support or choose not to support without being a fanboy or hater.

It’s respect for him standing in his country, same way you wouldn’t call prime minister or president outside of their official title. He’s a representative for the crown, it’s called tradition and this is a society that take serious interests in the structure of power. I could ask why we didn’t call queen Elizabeth flat out Liz wit the crown but that’s not up to us, it’s their cultural norms whether we agree or not. You respect people culture.

That makes good sense. Turki is not helpful he is making things worse for Crawford, One thing that people are overlooking is that Turki wants to negotiate only with Canelo directly and that is a direct slap in the face to Al Haymon, Canelo's advisor for this fight and to Eddy Reynoso, Canelo's manager. Mr. Turki that self-proclaimed "face of boxing" seems to be drunk with all the kowtowing and ring kissing that people are showing him.

Turki being involved only benefits Crawford. TC has proven he cannot sell, so there’s no way he can ask for a whole lot vs Canelo. You got one of the lowest selling big names in boxing vs the absolute biggest PPV seller in boxing.

Turki is Crawford’s crutch to make good money. Otherwise he can’t generate the money he thinks he’s worth.
