Second, do you honestly think the Devon Alexander win is better than anything Crawford’s done?
I was ecstatic as all get go when Bradley became unified but the hype surrounding it was mostly because HBO was pushing to create Devon as THE next guy.
The fight barely sold, the fight wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, and Devon didn’t go on to accomplish much if I’m not mistaken.
His best win/moments in his career were the knockout over Urango and maybe being the only guy who was able to beat Marcos Maidana unscathed (it was a monotonous hit and hold affair). He sort of became a stepping stone and quietly faded into obscurity.
It’s a good win for Bradley (for unifying titles), but I don’t know if him beating Devon Alexander specifically supersedes Crawford’s win over Shawn Porter/Spence.
EDIT: Wow. I just looked up box rec and Alexander really didn’t do much post Bradley loss. He sc****d by Lucas Matthysse but he’s taken 5 losses in a row since 2018 starting off Andre Berto.
If you want to say Bradley has a better win than Crawford by using Marquez, go for it. But let’s not magnify Devon’s stature as a big bad monster.
Also, I had the Marquez-Bradley fight a draw. Neither fighter took control of that fight. It’s a win, but to say it’s better than anything Crawford’s done unequivocally, it’s kind of like…
