Decubas, his manager, had set this all up for him which started after his fight with Canelo. He's been getting $1 million per fight since. Of course, DeCubas cut is also guaranteed.
And Lara is boring. He gets money because he fights in other cards, not his own.

He is the biggest dog of the trio. A strong willed guy who will stand his ground and fight if pressed

the other two were more physically gifted but god gave Lara the most mental strength
The most heart?? Lara?? He is as technical but as boring as the others. He just doesn´t move as much because of age but still hugs a lot. Gamboea had some heart but nothing compared to Mexican or Eastern European warriors. That´s heart.

Small guys normally age faster and get less coverage, so it's not too surprising that Lara is the last man standing. Also, PBC has supported Lara like BreWall was explaining. He has extended his career by fighting infrequently and not taking too much damage when he does. He has a decent resume, but he's also been carefully matched. Danny Garcia is another example of careful matchmaking.

Seems like everyone is forgetting Danny have never been down, never been really hurt.He got an iron Chin.He has been hit by Spence, Porter, Morales,ect.ect. and he took their punches like nothing.I got the feeling that Lara is going to suddenly become old that night far away from the boxer that in reality beat Canelo.Danny by late stoppage.

Danny hasn’t fought in two years. Lara’s been inactive himself, but at least his last outing was four months ago. I don’t think Garcia is going to enter this fight like a whirlwind.

First time for everything. Garcia is fighting at his highest weight ever, and he’s been inactive for two years. Lara fought recently, and he’s experienced at middleweight.

Once again…inactivity is a mofo. And Garcia has never fight at this weight before. This will be Lara’s fourth fight at 160.
