I had Madrimov winning close. If everybody would re-watch the fight, accept that there were some objectively even rounds (especially those first 3 rounds, for lack of punching) and then score those rounds 10-10, they would all have cards that make some kind of sense. When you force yourself to split hairs to find a winner (usually your guy) then you're going to consistently end up with a biased card while thinking everyone else is insane or biased. I thought Madrimov outsmarted and outboxed Bud, but I regard any card that has either guy winning by no more than a point or two as reasonable.

I think Madrimov vs any of the JMW elite is a pick 'em fight. He has the athleticism, IQ, endurance and punching power to contend with and beat any of them. I personally think he picks apart and destroys Fundora. I give him the edge over Tim Tszyu as well, but that's a great fight. I think Ortiz is his toughest fight, but who know what Ortiz has left against Bohachuk.Comment

You Idiot, what I have been saying this entire time was that madrimov is cherry picked to make Crawford look good, because he only has 10 wins. And I said that because all the budse×auls said bud was going to dominate and stop him. Well none of that ended up happening. So next time if you're going to quote me, then please do a better job.

I see what I don't want to see. Bud is getting old. He's still gifted, but not like he was. Madrimov did good late in Buds career, he lost and I don't see where he goes from here. If Bud beat him, younger, bigger, stronger anybody gots a shot.Comment

For what its worth, Ring Magezine has him at No. 2, only behind Crawford in the JMW division. I fully expected Crawford to beat him more decisively, not because Madrimov is not a good champion, but because I thought Crawford always looked good against these big strong guys. What I didn't expect was Madrimov to come in with some slick upper body movement and feints for 12 rounds. Thats what I mean by tricky. I was impressed by Madrimov and thought Crawford did a great job not losing his cool and doing enough to beat a tricky fighter.Comment

Maybe you expect too much. We have weight classes for a reason.Comment

Yeah I did based on his movement up to Welterweight. Bud dominated strong fighters in Jeff Horn and Benavidez when he initially moved up in weight to WW. Stylistically, I think (and thought) Madrimov is pretty similar to Horn and Benavidez so I thought his dominance would be similar.Comment
