  • The fighter who impressed me the most

last night was Martin Bakole, was also somewhat impressed with Anderson - Good athletic HW but despite being 6'4, 252lbs he strikes me more as 6'2 and about 220? Almost undersized for some reason and not just cause of last night, he just doesn't strike me being anywhere near as big as he is, its weird.

I've been saying it for a while I think Bakole beats the living **** out of a lot of these more hyped and established HWs. Does he win a world title? probably not though the top fighters are 1-2 fights away from retirement so you never know. But I do think he'd beat Hrgovic absolutely senseless, Dubois, probably Parker also. I just don't think Parker would be able to keep the big brute honest. I really do feel he beats down just about all those fringe contender types. Ruiz & Miller, I think he beats the hell out of both.

He is a huge man and despite not being the lightest on his feet he is quite flexible & reactive up top and puts combinations together well, he has good variety.
And what about that gas tank for a man his size who throws volume?

I hope the Saudis have him back, I'm intrigued to see him in big fights. I really like his style.

Yeah I agree, he has some flaws but he'd destroy a few guys in the lower half of the top 10 and might grab a title in a year or so considering most of the top guys are near the end.

I'm up for any mixture of Bakole/Kabayel/Zhang.

Without a doubt. Likable as hell, too. Family man with Christian values blessed with the power of Thor and sounds humble as hell.

It’s weird. I looked at the pre fight stats: 30 pounds heavier, taller, around his prime while Andersen was a touch too young…

I expected Bakole to be a lumbering puncher but he’s sneaky and shoots straight and puts combinations together. His stance is upright as hell but that right uppercut, straight right right hand that initially put Andersen down was beautiful…reminded me of Loma in a way who’s done that combination before. Beautiful stuff and fighter of the night for sure. Valenzuela second most impressive.

As I was watching the fight, I thought to myself, “Bakole strikes me as the type of guy who withstands an eternity of punishment before going down but once he goes down, he stays down…and then Grisham and Mora bring up the King Hippo from “Punch-Out!” comparison (who stays down when finally put down).

Someone mentioned it somewhere on boxing scene and was precise…Bakole fights George Foreman-esque.

Bakole did impress w/ his foreman-esque style and he was in the more "exciting" fight .But what Rayo did was the most impressive feat of the nite , and he made it look easy when not many were giving Rayo a chance in this fight.......

Bakole was the most impressive, especially because Anderson fought back with balls and technique.

I was not overly surprised by Rayo's win. Cruz has always been overrated.
