DuBois was matched very tough early against Joyce and I thought he was doing well in that fight but his eye didn't hold up. He showed a great deal of heart in that 3 round war against Llerena. He looked good against Usyk until he was overwhelmed and frustrated.

It seems Warren has maintained some level of confidence in DuBois, I'm not sure Arum feels the same with Anderson and I wouldn't be surprised if he's let go sooner rather than later. Anderson has been critical of TR and his contract ends in 2025.
Anderson don't have power. Dubois has real power

Prior to that, they were very careful in their matchmaking. Big Baby was supposed to fight Kossobutskiy but that fight fell through due to visa issues (Kossobutekiy was found out when he quit against Ajagba). Anderson got Martin instead and struggled. He was fed the punching bag Rudenko and then a blown up, light hitting cruiserweight in Merhy.

When they announced that Anderson would face Bakole (who has been avoided since the Yoka fight), it seemed obvious that Top Rank decided to match Anderson tough to see if he was worth continuing to invest in. Bob didn't want to wait around with a careful development of his prospect HW if he was showing red flags in and out of the ring.
I don't care about that, I did say any available contender, and if Anderson is being showcased as the premier American heavyweight.
Then with that kind of ballyhoo comes the expectation that your going to take on anyone in front of you in the rating's.

Actually before the fight I said that aside from money, I think a big part of the reason they are letting this fight happen to see if he can sink or swim because he seems to get into a bit of trouble out the Ring and doesn't really seem that dedicated to boxing.

so I think they just threw him in the deep end and see what happens because it wouldn't have surprise me if he'd have got beaten by someone else on a lesser profile card.

I think if they had 100% confidence in what he could do in the future or his mentality, they would have navigated him away from this fight because it was a crazy bit of match making. Of course we dont want fighters to be overly protected, but he needed a couple of decent opponents to bridge the gap between where he is and who he fought last night.

bakole is a big old handful that will beat the piss out of you if you're not ready for it.
Well said and better said than my attempt at it.

Credit to Jared Anderson for willing himself back into the fight after the first round and continuing to try to win and not just survive. Bakole is a beast ,I am impressed. I wonder where he goes next ? A fight with Hunter only offers him revenge but nothing else at this point. He should be looking for fights with guys like Zhang , Parker , etc.

Zhang and Parker are supposedly fighting their rematch at the end of the year. We will see how far up the rankings the Anderson win sends Martin, maybe if he could get someone like Ajagba or Kebayel (both currently ranked higher at the moment) in the ring...

Kayabel is too small. Kayabel vs Anderson, good fight, however, Anderson is not deserving. Anderson has already been hit with two felony counts and the worst is probably yet to come.

Anderdon’s defense is very suspect. He gets hit very easily. Charles Martin showed that Anderson is a good B side fighter. Bakole gave his a fierce arse whooping. He won’t last very long talking punches to his face that frequently. The TR hype job is over.

He’s talking about the people who bet on Bakole. They were impressed betting on Bakole knowing Anderson is a TR hyoe job.

Atlas needs to always take his meds. He’s such a loose cannon and the reason ESPN got rid of him.

                    • Bakole throws thunder with both arms and they come from wacky angles because he doesn't need to put his whole body into it.
He has far faster hands than you would think he would, likely for the same reason.
When you throw a bunch of heavy shots without putting too much energy into it, you have the ability to set up the big ones...and he did!
I would love to see him vs anyone of substance and hope they can make some fights with him. I love when dudes with good attitudes succeed!!!
