I think you’re talking about the Gamboa fight: dude Gamboa was fast and looking sharp until he started to fade. It was the speed and Bud hasn’t taken any clean shots minus the Mean Machine. That dude was strong and it was still early when he dropped bud. They were solid shots but not devastating. And he recovered by not putting himself in that position again (coverage)

All this word salad to point out he prepares diligently for a fight, who would've guessed? but the link up with Conte makes it dubious for a lot of people.

P.S. Also he's not "One of only two active double-undisputed world champions" either, Usyk, Inoue and Crawford are all active fighters.

And all them share the "double-undisputed" title, you'd think with your time served in and around this sport you'd at least be clued up on the more accomplished fighters of this era...

I'd have to look deeper into Contes ideas , but I do think that it's smart to use a scientific approach. One problem with that though , when you have non scientists claiming to be doing science , especially in the world of supplements and sports is that you get A LOT OF PSEUDOSCIENCE. There's tons of b.s. out there that sounds great , but has no actual evidence behind it or proof that it works besides what the guy selling it is telling you. Another issue is that I wouldn't trust Conte as far as I could throw him. I know from experience that there's no substitute for busting your ass in the gym.. Hard work , works.

First of all there are three double undisputed boxers, and both Usyk and Inoue has been double the activeness compared to Crawford.

I always wonder about boxing corners. A lot of time I just think it is a lot of flannel they give them that they can't listen too anyway.

Tyson Fury for example was gassing and then all you have is his Dad talking s.hite about getting him to move around.

I know this Conte has a terrible rep but he raises the point that probably more important than tactics at this level (for a superbly conditioned fighter) would be a focus on slow breathing and dropping your heart rate. We know now we can hack into our parasympathetic nervous system fairly easily.
