Morrell needs to step up and Saturday's be a decent test at last.
That’s what I’m saying. No one is happy that Canelo is fighting Berlanga, but let’s keep the same energy for Morrell and his opposition.
    HeyDeebo! A.B Counterhooks likes this.

I want to see him take on riskier opponents and not just obsess about Canelo.
He fought everyone who would sign to fight him. He's flattened an Olympic medalist and put an undefeated contender into a coma. His last 3 opponents haven't stepped in the ring again, and several of his others haven't been able to win a fight. Like Alantez Fox, who took Andrade to a decision, got crushed by Morrell and then ended up losing 3 In a row to Bazinyan, Bek the bully, and Darius Fulghum. That's the thing with him. A large proportion of the guys he fights have their careers effectively ended. That's a big part of why Christian Mbilli turned down a fight with him at least twice.

He's not obsessed about canelo, you are. He had fought three undefeated fighters in only 10 fights, but you are asking for a name right? Someone like 40yo ggg or 40yo Mosley, ryder, yes someone like ryder who by the way ran like it was no tomorrow, maybe berlanga, or yildrim. GTFO with deflections. None of the fighters at 168 want to fight DMJ, none, not fraud, not benavidez(while I understand why benavidez doesn't want to do it now, Morrell jr is not a fault here, if they continue to win, down the line the fight could generate a lot of money) and not mbilli. So ask them why they don't want to fight?

As long as they step in the ring, we can have this conversation. The opponent tomorrow is not a bum, way better than berlanga and munguia put together.

You would laugh more if you check canelo's and benavidez first 10 fights. Go check and compare apples to apples. And so you know, at this stage in his career he should be fighting real fighters not journeymen nor undeserving boxers. You were quick to reply, I dare you to go back to canelo's resume in his first 10 fights and post the results, if is close to DMJ I'll replace my signature with this "I'm counterhook b1tch" for a month, if it is like I think it is way lower and $h1tty, you replace yours with the same context and use my username.

Is that what you want to see?

It will be funnier if you go back to BoxRec and check ginger's resume first 10 fights.

It's about being the mandatory, not risky or anything. You have guys who fought to get ranked , fought whatever eliminators were mandated, have waited through the rotation and according to the organization owning the belts are next in line for a title shot. Instead of fulfilling his OBLIGATION as Champion , Canelo says , nah , I'll fight whoever I want " AND he gets to keep the Championship. As a boxing fan , how is that ok with you ? Is it ok for everyone , or just fighters that you like ?
