It might also be one of the few sports where being a better athlete is actually often not beneficial to longevity compared to lesser athletes.

if you're a great athlete like Pacquiao who relied on great explosivity or you're a fighter that relies on great agility and reactions, then your age becomes more detrimental to your ability than it would for a big punching fighter just looking to land one big shot, a là old Foreman.

100%. Some of those incredibly gifted athletic fighters develop habits of doing things they shouldn't that lesser gifted athletes would never imagine doing. As the reflexes and speed go, the bad habits often remain. Roy Jones, Jr. is one that immediately comes to mind.

He not like Floyd to where he can have exhibition matches, and do well. Floyd has unusually long arms, fast and great timing

Maybe he should have cherry picked a guy 6 divisions down like Mayweather.

Pac looked great for a 45 year old retired legend! And he even showed flashes of his younger self near the end of that third. Wow! Not easy to compete at that age against someone much younger and bigger. Truly an inspiration for all.

At 45 I doubt his reflexes are still there. Like every other retired superstar they feel good in the gym but once they are in the actual ring it reveals everything.

Floyd doesn't fight 3x2min rds. Dumb management by team Pacquiao. Floyd knows MMA guys and Youtubers can't fight going back and can't take body punches.

That was very bad. Hopefully an eye opener to never return in the pros. I’m glad it was a hard fight though, if it was a cherry pick smaller fighter it would have given him and his team confidence to actually push for the barrios fight lol
