  • Comments Thread For: Otto Wallin taking his swings as he waits his turn at heavyweight

Otto Wallin will face Onoriode Ehwarieme on Friday in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to stay ready for any opportunity that materializes from an increasingly fractured and calcifying heavyweight division.

    I'll watch his fight tonight.
He needs to be able to hurt the top guys in the division but I haven't seen any of that when he fought Fury and Joshua.

Waiting his turn? He finally got another turn, and got whooped.

He needs to earn another turn,

I like Wallin but I haven't seen that against the next tier down either. He hit Breazeale with about a dozen consecutive punches and didn't seem to put a dent in him.

Surprisingly, he seemed to buckle Gassiev with a punch but it seemed more random than anything else. Otto is a big and skilled southpaw but he doesn't have much pop.

He just had his chance and just got flattened! Let other deserving contenders get their shot.

"a fractured and calcifying division...." the author is spewing nonsense just to write flowery prose. The division is in better shape than for decades because everyone is fighting each other due to Saudi cash pipeline - calcifying is applicable to the WW and MW divisions

He must earn his next big fight, that is how it is. He must beat one of these guys in the same position. Mahmudov, Sanchez, Joyce, Hrgovic..

Knocked out Ehwarieme in 48 seconds but no one was watching. He needs a promoter behind him plenty of mid fights to be made

He hurt Fury in the final round.

Wallin is a fine, respectable HW. A good challenge for anyone. He will get several more "money" fights so long as he keeps winning the small ones. But he is strictly a "B" level fighter. Nothing short of a top level HW looking past him gets Otto a big win.
