The criticism has been relentless, but WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman expects it to subside now that David Benavidez has accepted the opportunity to perform as a light heavyweight.

Yes indeed he is, he ruined his chances of fighting canelo, his continued begging for this fight is embarrassing, his fans are tiresome.

2 undefeated p4p fighters whose last 5 opponents have a combined record of 295 - 13, with the winner making a case for top p4p

If I'm Benavidez, I seriously prioritize my boxing skills

After losing his title on the scales, getting caught on that nose candy, and waiting by the phone every night like a school girl waiting for her crush to ask her to the dance for that Canelo payday, Benavidez is finally a master of his own fate. Cong**** Benny.

I'll have MAD respect for Benavidez if he can beat a healthy version of whoever wins. I think he loses to both, personally, but it's way better than the cherry picking nonsense from Canelo, and if that fight happens on Cinco de Mayo, I'm not watching Canelo, that's for sure.

Yeah, quit picking on feeble old man Canelo! He's on his exhibition tour! Benavidez should have known Canelo was going to wuss out. He paid his dues years ago, and will only face candy azzez and jabronis from now on.

I think Benavidez is another Zurdo, waiting to get exposed by the right fighter. For how big he was at 168, he'll struggle at 175.
He needs to learn to stop squaring up and throwing arm punches.
