The Mighty Oilskin is the only one young enough and left standing from the past decade capable of clearing out the division and reunifying undisputed and ending Usyk's reign.

The 3 Brokeback 'mountains' of the era had Uncle Al, Fisheyes and Fast Eddie pimping their asses. That's the only reason they dominated the narrative and held the belts hostage.

Parker has earnt every shot at any title and the respect of his peers. The dude is a rematch win with AJ from ending his myth having done the same to Wilder.

When all is said and done Parker could be 2nd behind Usyk as best of his era.

Big love for Joseph Parker here! Big, big love. I won't knock it, as JP is a true warrior and CERTAINLY one of the best of his era (ranked between 5th and 8th).
This era has an entire top shelf of big boys who are (or were) better than anyone Vitali Klitschko ever beat. So what JP has done is pretty amazing.

    But seriously:
Wins over Botha, Minto, Saglam, Tupou, Meehan, Takam, Haumono, Dimitrenko, Cojanu, Hughie Fury, Leapai, Fa, Chisora and Kean; and close and controversial judges nods over Ruiz, Chisora, and Zhang; and a boring nod over a very used up and Ancient Wilder; and clear cut losses to Joshua, Whyte and Joyce make an excellent resume; but these simply do not push Parker up to the level of Usyk, Fury, Joshua, prime Wilder.

He remains in the same (highly respectable) level pool alongside Zhilei Zhang, Andy Ruiz Jr, Luis Ortiz, Daniel Dubois, Wladimir Klitschko (old ver), Dillian Whyte, Joe Joyce, Alexander Povetkin (old ver) and Agit Kabayel inside this 2015 - 2025 era.

Giving JP anything more that that requires a slight departure from fact and reason.
But.....his prime career is still underway and there are still fights to come.

Parker's biggest asset seems to be that he has gained wisdom and experience... Surely we should look for him to maybe have a historical last hurrah under certain possible conditions. The trend for Parker is up. This makes him capable at this point, time will tell!

I would put him at 4th, behind Fury.

          1. Mr. Fury
          2. Mr. Usyk
          3. Mr. Wilder (prime, not the clone of last 2 fights)
          4. Mr. Joshua
          5. Dr. Steelhammer (old version)
          6. Mr. Zhang
          7. Mr. Ortiz
          8. Mr. Ruiz
          9. Mr. Parker
          10. Mr. Chisora/Mr. B-Sample

If Hearn ever grew a pair and rematched his prize heifer AJ with the stud bull that is Parker, we'd see who comes out on top.

I'd pick the younger bull over the cash cow.

Wishful thinking as we all know Hearns nuts are tucked up in his belly, higher than Furys shorts and AJ has been hiding behind Hearns skirt since Fat Andy had his way with him.

They've met though, and we got our results.

Zhang is a more interesting and dangerous opponent.
                no disrespect towards JP.

Do you think there would be a different result if say AJ and Wilder fought 6 years ago than if they fought now ?

You never step in the same river twice. The river has changed and your notv the same man.

Somebody knows their presocratics! Heraclitus (sp?).

I do not want to sound ridiculous but you have no idea how much pleasure it gives me to see at least a few other members who are conversant on the topic of philosophy... enough to use such an analogy as you have. Added bonus because the presocratics tend to be overshadowed by Socrates... Although Pythagoras is getting his due these days.
