I wonder how Barrios feels in all this? lol. He's obviously chosen with the idea that Manny at 46 yrs old can beat him. How does that make him feel? How did he accept the fight knowing he's about to beat on an old man? What if by some divine miracle, Manny wins the fight? What's that say about Barrios and how is he going to feel knowing he got beat by a grandpa Pac? It's a no win situation for Barrios other than perhaps his bank account.

On the other end, how much is Manny going to make when people haven't seen him fight now in a few years and he's facing a guy nobody really cares about when it comes to the stars of boxing? Are people going to fork over money just for nostalgia? With hopes that Manny can make a true comeback and reclaim P4P #1? rofl. Just where does this road go if Pac did win? Not a healthy path, that's for sure.

Or they could both be a horrible mismatch. If Manny is going to try to come back at all, which I don't think he should, I don't mind him taking the guy who seems like the softest touch in the division. If he manages to win somehow, hopefully he then has the sense to retire as a champion.

The sport doesn’t need that. The sport benefits more from a younger, relatively unknown champion, getting a high profile fight that if he wins he can use to boost his fan base for fights down the road.

That doesn’t really interest me. Barrios isn’t special. Boots is. Boots needs the boost. Besides, if he wins Manny may retire again.

Oh IF Boots wins, then YOU are going to ALLOW MANNY to retire, again?! You sound a lot like a Prison Warden Crossed with Used Car Salesman/Phony Hearing Aid Salesman type of mentality___ Frankly it's disturbing that you find it interesting should Manny comeback for anything more serious than a Soft touch/Novelty Act type of fight, seriously BOOTS bruh? Manny could not bridge the gap and damage UGAS on the inside, how in the world is he going to exchange in the pocket wit BOOTS? You have to be the type of fan that would have totally been salivating for the Ali vs. Holmes affair, or any REAL LIFE EQUIVALENT of Apollo Creed vs. Ivan Drago really...... Huh?
Whey can't ya just accept Manny fighting any ordinary lame(if they managed to become a trinket holder even better!), instead of insisting on rushing him into the Lions Den at age 46. He wouldn't be able to secure a single round, or even get the better of a single exchange with that boy Boots...
A Manny Comeback is simply NOT very interesting beyond the fact that he is an ATG with a fire inside him that will always remain, doesn't mean its burning hot enough to reclaim any of his past glory, what he did to Thurman was his last greatest feat and THAT was something to behold. Beyond that, he SHOULD be given the circus act fight wit Floyd if ANYTHING

Ennis beating on a 46 year old former legend doesn't do anything for his resume. He's too big, and the optics are terrible. Barrios maybe because he's viewed as the weakest of the champs at 147, and he got knocked out by a 135 lber. But when you got Ennis who's been talking about going up to 168+ and above vs a guy who won his first belt at flyweight? It's got to look at least a little winnable for the old man, and Ennis ain't it. He's too big, too good, and too devastating. Better for Barrios, and then have him seen a more credible opponent for Ennis, if we have to watch Manny get beat on by a younger guy. He's nearly two decades older than either guy, but Barrios is 2 years older than Ennis at least.

I am not interested in a Manny comeback or watching Barrios TBH. I see no value in a ‘winnable’ fight.

IMO the value here is giving Boots a chance to get a KO win in a fight that should sell about 450-500k ppvs minimum, so casual fans maybe start to follow him more.

That is a benefit for the sport.
