  • Shaky To Start World Champions

Can anyone recommend some fighters who started off rather shakily early in their careers but eventually beat the odds to go on to be a WORLD champion?

And I'm talking legitimate boxers. Fighters who started bad but improved and earned that belt. So, no Deontay Wilders, please and thank you.

    Thanks guys!

Bernard Hopkins lost his pro debut. So did Henry Armstrong, Rafael Marquez, Wilfredo Vasquez, Johnny Nelson, Pipino Cuevas, Orlando Salido, Miguel Vazquez (poor guy debuted against Canelo), Jhonny Gonzalez, Bonecrusher Smith, Juan Manuel Marquez, Mike Weaver, etc. All won world titles.

Tevin Farmer lost his pro debut and was 2-2-1 after 5 pro fights, 4-3-1 after 8, and 7-4-1 after 12 fights.

Srisaket Sor Rungvisai got knocked out in his pro debut, got knocked out in his 2nd fight, got a draw in his 3rd fight, and lost his 5th fight by decision. 1-3-1 after 5.
