This is nonsense. People seriously overrate heavier divisions. Look at the guy Chocolatito just wrecked at 118. He showed the footwork to take angles, which is very rare at the higher levels. He had an active high guard. Most fighters in the heavier divisions just put their arms up and take it. He entered with jabs, was far more defensively responsible than most fighters at, say, middleweight, didn't neglect the body (again, something so rare at higher weight classes that they tend to get specifically mentioned by the analysts when they do it at all). And Barrera is ranked 130th in the world, yet has more skills than highly rated prospects and contenders at bigger divisions. You want to tell me Berlanga is more skilled than Barrera? That just says you have no technical knowledge about boxing.

Inoue needs more risks? What's more risk than taking on the best guys in the division when you move up? Canelo still hasn't taken on the best guys in his division. Usyk took on Chazz Witherspoon first. Bud comes the closest, and there's plenty of people who will tell you all about how Bud fought weak opponents.
