On the other hand, if Charlo doesn't like him, that may actually be a credit to Plant. From what I can see, I don't think I would like Charlo.

And whichever one he slapped, it's fine by me. Either one is a good choice. It's not only fine by me, I respect that. It was a boss level move that showed he's a real one. And real recognizes real.

You don't have to be able to beat everyone to be real. So Canelo and Benavidez [beating him] doesn't make him a punk. He still fought them and didn't just try to not get knocked out (charlo, again).

Plant needs to shave his hipster beard, learn to act respectful towards others and beat a good fighter. As is, he is a joke.

TBH you sound like a bit of a sensitive lil soul and might be into the wrong sport.

Idiots talking mad shít like Dirrel get their comeuppance and a lil extra along with it.

The very same Dirrel who was not only talking mad shít he had to bring race into it and say "I'll never let a white "boy" beat me" yeah!? well deserved.

If Plant said I'd never let a black "boy" beat me, you'd literally never hear the end of it.

So far, Plant has: slapped Jose Benavidez, shoveled dirt over Anthony "the Dog" Dirrell's body, tried to slap Canelo, but got his glasses counter slapped sideways, slapped Charlo so hard across the jaw that Charlo shh..t down his leg and started sucking his thumb and now he purrs like a kitten, threw a drink on Ryan Garcia. By now, it's safe to say Plant will go in a joker's mouth quick (no diddy)

Plant comes off as a douche, period. And I have been watching boxing for 40 years, never seen a pro boxer do that juvenile WWE ****. Dirrel is a joke of a fighter and talks ******. But if the dude was actually hurt and brain damaged, Plant would have looked really classless for being that moronic. Which based on Plant's arrogant ****** personality makes sense. He hasn't beaten anyone to act like he is great, and has been wasted by actual top fighters.

Regardless, Plant has now had a few reality checks upside his head. Especially after clinging onto Benavidez like a hurt woman for rounds. Hopefully he has matured a bit.

I don't give a rat's ass about his personal life, but as a fighter, I like the cut of Plant's jib. He's not an elite talent or anything but the dude can box well. His out-of-ring exploits are humorous in the "what's Plant up to now?" sort of way, and it's labeled him as something of a "menace" in this sport, but I don't really care much about that, either. Although, this is the first I'm hearing of him tossing a drink on Ryan Garcia, so I can't hate him.

I did find it interesting that the dude never spars between fights. That's insane. If Plant is a semi-decent gatekeeper without sparring, he might be a different animal with some proper ring work. We'll see. Not sure if McCumby will be a good test for that; Plant could put on a Jimmy Smith performance and he'd still beat Trevor.

“He didn’t spar in between fights really before I trained him, and I told him, ‘When you’re on a schedule of one fight a year, one fight every six months, you can’t not spar. I know you think you’re getting wear and tear on your body, but the rust is going to be too hard to overcome.’

“So when I first trained him for the Dirrell fight, he hadn’t sparred in over a year or close to it. He was just rusty. That’s the only word I could use to describe him. Really, really rusty.”

Edwards said Plant struggled through the opening weeks of camp because his timing and distance had not been there, but Plant is now starting off sharp and in shape.

“Listen, I don’t believe in not sparring between camps,” Edwards added. “I think you gotta spar to stay sharp. Especially when you’re fighting once a year, so we overcame that. For this camp, he’s been sparring two, three times a week so when I got out here [to Las Vegas where they are preparing] he was sharp already, so that alone will keep you sharp.
He didn't spar between fights. So he's only getting hit when he steps in the ring? I find that hard to believe

He only had one world champ, but this writer is acting like he's talking about Eddie Futch or Angelo Dundee.
