I don't see how you can predict a boring fight with him against Mayweather..
and assuming you're comparing Cotto to Hatton with the potshot comment..the one getting potshotted will be Pacquiao..he has no mass and isn't capable of cutting the ring..at all!..Hatton gave Mayweather problems with his pressure and mass..before Mayweather began to pick him apart..but
Pacquiao would lose identically to Mayweather as Hatton did..come foward fighters with ****ty defense..that's Mayweather's favorite Meal..
While Cotto would be getting tagged clean with the lead rights..Cotto would be walking foward most of the night of course..but is much better defensively and offensively than Hatton..so it would pretty interesting actually..

but that's where the popular saying comes "You can't teach old dogs, new tricks"..Cotto fights the way he fights..he can make minor tweaks as far as strategies..but nothing major enough to make that big of a difference in his style..
and don't get it twisted..I'd be rooting for Cotto til the end if that fight were to happen..I'd just be realistic just like I was against the Clottey fight and I've now become with him against Pacquiao..I could see him losing for several reasons..but that's what makes his fights so exciting for me..because (usually) he seems to not have the qualities to win..but than he surprises the **** outta me with his abilities and his intelligence..
So..I'd be 50/50 on the Mayweather-Cotto fight..but I don't think neither fighter has been in the ring with anybody to compare the 2..
Closest thing Cotto has gotten to a Mayweather-type fighter is Malignaggi..Speed, Pure Boxer, Counter Puncher, but NO POWER!
Closest thing Mayweather has gotten to a Cotto-type fighter is Hatton..Pressure, footwork, decent power (Cotto more powerful), body puncher.. but Hatton was the smaller man..and has 0 defense!..
