Boots is an incredible offensive force. He focuses so much on that aspect that he gets hit clean. It's a bad habit that you can get away with at certain levels..

    Ava was game but outgunned.

Dunno, just seemed like he was walking forward loading up on bombs mostly. No real setups or angles, which is easy vs a heavy bag but did not seem super impressive to me.

I think we watched a different fight.

I didn't think Ava could take half as many clean shots as he did. Considering the size difference I thought his power was disappointing considering how many times he hit him clean. Ava came off the couch 2 years since his last fight, 36 years old, if you consider all that it wasn't anything that impressive.

I would love to see him TRY to beat Bud
Crawford would cash that ticket so fughin fast and capitalize on those errors
Boots is nowhere close to that level

Ennis is must-see TV for me. Boxer-puncher with the attributes to be a potentially effective out-boxer, but prefers to unleash an offensive onslaught. His offensive mindset leaves him vulnerable, which will make for compelling moments when he steps up the competition. Hopefully he gets Stanionis/Barrios to end the year. If not them, then bring on Crowley/Cissokho. If not them, then petition the IBF for a title shot against Murtazaliev. Whatever it is, Ennis needs another fight this year. He's too talented and entertaining to be kept inactive. If he's healthy and blasting out his opposition, then keep him in the ring every 3-4 months.

Boots is the Benavidez of 147: looks phenomenal smashing smaller, inexperienced fighters, looks vulnerable against anyone who can correctly counter.

I like the kid’s moxie in the ring but his defense will get him cracked against someone credible, which he’s yet to fight.

And supposedly Bud Crawford is avoiding him

Can't that be said about most offensively-minded fighters? Nobody should think Ennis is perfect, but he's obviously a formidable foe even with his flaws. For as much as he supposedly gets hit, his chin has held up fine and he doesn't leave the ring with serious wounds. He's gone 12 rounds once, and 10 rounds once in 32 fights. He's pulverizing his opponents. His most competitive fights were Villa and Chukhadzhian. Villa still hasn't returned from getting bludgeoned, and Chuk clearly fought to survive. Chuk showed more aggression against Scarff, which proves that Chuk understood Ennis' threat level. Hopefully the IBF doesn't enforce Karen as a mandatory again while Ennis is titlist. If you put Ennis at 154, he would still be a threat. Did you see the last IBF 154lb title fight? I think Ennis would turn Murtazaliev into target practice. Lubin demonstrated grit vs. Fundora and he does have skill, but he'd potentially find himself in serious trouble vs. Ennis. I would love to see Ennis vs. Ortiz/Tszyu/Bohachuk. 147 Undisputed would be nice, but they shouldn't waste too much time if negotiations are stagnating. Ideally, 147 Undisputed will be decided by the end of April/May 2024. Then, they need to petition the IBF for a 154lb title shot. That is how Ennis would put pressure on Crawford.

I think Ennis is where Spence was pre-Brook. I think Spence was 27 when he fought Brook. Ennis is 27 now, and is more seasoned than Spence was then. Now is the time for Ennis to become a star. He's no longer in Spence's shadow on PBC island.

He just fought a guy who’s last opponent was 11-55
I think your overseeing the reality of it all
How’s about we wait and see his reaction when he gets hit clean by a strong puncher ?!?
I really believe that will make him doubt his offensive style
Yes kind of like Spence who hadn’t been tested until he met up with Bud
