  • The problem with the lightweight division

Shakur Stevenson - WBC champ, undefeated
Gervonta Davis - WBA champ, undefeated
Denis Berinchyk - WBO champ, undefeated
Vasyl Lomachenko - IBF champ, still got it
William Zepeda - #1 contender in all orgs, undefeated
Raymond Muratalla - #2 contender in WBC, WBA, and WBO, undefeated
Keyshawn Davis - #3 in WBC, IBF, WBO, undefeated
Floyd Schofield - #2 in WBA, undefeated
Andy Cruz - Gold medalist, his skill level is higher then what his ranking suggests

You got 9 top talented guys, 8 of them undefeated but no one is fighting each other. You can give Berenchyk a break because he just beat Navarrete, but these guys need to be fighting each other in the back end of 2024, at the least 2025.

I would generalize and say that's pretty much the problem with boxing. The heavyweights are starting to come around. I think this has to do with the Saudis.

That's why undefeated SUCKS. It just means, someone hasn't met their match yet and until that undefeated fighter takes a loss or meets their match, we might not know how they'll come back from adversity in their career.

I know people would hate to hear it because we love fighters like Crawford and Usyk, but even they're missing out on showing an aspect of greatness to see how they come back from a loss.
