Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson can assert himself into 'Tank' talks by shining tonight
Even though negotiations between representatives for Gervonta "Tank" Davis and Vasiliy Lomachenko are in progress, Shakur Stevenson has an opportunity to interrupt the conversation.

He doesn't have to assert himself, assuming he wins this fight tonight. Probably even Ellerbe is sick of the types of fights Tank is taking, "Frank Martin can't beat Tank Davis."
So if it's not Stevenson, who is free agent after his fight, who else is there for Davis next? Nobody. Loma fight might be harder to negotiate.
Let me repeat, who else is there for Tank next? If you can answer the question, then go ahead, resume this assert talk, which is nonsensical to me.
Tank will never fight Shakur period. Your all dreaming. Why fight an elite fighter when you can make the same money fighting 5 nobodies WITH NO RISK. Welcome to corporate boxing. Gotta love it. Cant wait to spend more money to watch tank fight another weak opponant.
This fight will NOT move the needle.. This was a matchup against an inferior opponent. No power. Keyshawn Davis is fighting a far more formidable opponent, who is higher ranked and possesses real knockout power. Real boxing know this. Shakur needs to fight a legitimate title contender to be considered for a Tank fight. He is just like Haney he can’t sell. If he fights a Muratalla or Zepeda. You can’t fight an inferior opponent to someone on your undercard
I'd be more willing to bet that Tank's next opponent would be anyone other than Loma, Shakur, or Zepeda at 135. Contrary to the rumors I don't believe Loma-Tank will occur anytime soon, though I certainly won't be sad if it does. Not saying Tank will lose to those three, but the margin of safely winning isn't wide enough to take it.
The opponent needs to be on a golden platter for Tank to bite, a silver plate isn't good enough.
