I agree with the content herein. Incredibly ****** decision by the IBF, that IMO relegates them back to the dung heap of irrelevance once again. If they had sensible rankings and ACTUALLY were consistent with their rules, maybe. But they haven't been consistent, especially on notable occasions, and this particular decision is absurd beyond belief.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Usyk fight Big Doobie or Anthony Joshua again. They've both improved tremendously since their fights with Usyk . I wouldn't mind either of them fighting Fury either .

Truth be told, Chris Algeri was an average fighter at best. As a writer, he’s even worse. How can he say this with a straight face: “Joshua has also looked phenomenal lately.” Are you serious? Algeri considers wins against Ngannou, Wallin, Helenius, and Franklin, looking phenomenal. Algeri is on the AJ/ Hearn hype wagon. AJ has been fighting in rehab mode after losing to Ruiz and Usyk twice. AJ is as overrated as they come. If Dubois is able to step to his right and have some head movement, he should KO AJ who has a very suspect chin.

By the time Algeri fought Ruslan Provodnikov, Ruslan was finished after fighting Bradley. Known fighters like Benn, Kahn, Pacquiao, and Spence beat him easily.

While I despise the sanctioning bodies, I must give the IBF credit for enforcing their rules. Both Fury and Usyk knew that a rematch clause would vacate the title, so what’s wrong with giving other fighters an opportunity. Hergovic had to wait 2 years to finally get his chance to fight for the IBF title, when the same IBF dragged its feet and let Usyk do as he pleased. I would not be surprised if Hearn and Warren threatened to sue the IBF if they didn’t vacate the title.

The problem with this article is that Algeri is talking out both sides of his mouth. Saying AJ looked phenomenal against sub-par competition is ridiculous.

Revisionist nonsense.

First of all, Provodnikov was coming off a stoppage win of Mike Alvarado for a world title when Algieri beat him. Then he stopped old man Castillo and lost to Matthysse by MD. So clearly he had something left in the tank.

Second, Benn fought Algieri seven years after Pacquiao handed him his first loss. He was washed up, it doesn't reflect on how good he was or wasn't in his prime.

Third, Algieri won ISKA and WKA world pro kickboxing championships before he even started his boxing career. Then he won a world boxing title and you want to call him average just because he lost to freaking Pacquiao, Khan, and Spence?

You want to criticize the man's takes, be my guest, but how a forum poster can attack the in-ring credentials of a guy who won pro world titles in two different combat sports is beyond me.
