Well they actually wanted to fight the younger guy, which Canelo doesn't seem to be too keen on. He obviously has more experience but it's becoming apparent he's not quite the same as he was a few years ago.

I have, actually. Canelo starts strong, Canelo finishes strong. Everything else in between is all GGG. There’s maybe 3 rounds throughout that are swing rounds.

The term “gift” or “robbery” is so overused that it’s lost its meaning.

Canelo got a gift draw, you say?
Then I guess Haney got a gift draw against Loma…?
And Munguia a gift decision over Derevyenchenko…?
And Cotto got a gift decision over Clottey…?

If you actually sit down and score fights frequently, you’d actually realize how easy it is to arrive to certain scorecards the general public would deem “skewed”, “inadmissible”, “a joke”.

The only fight you can legitimately say that one guy won in the trilogy is the last one. The first two can go both ways. If you actually sit down and score fights frequently, you’d actually realize how easy it is to arrive to certain scorecards the general public would deem “skewed”, “inadmissible”, “a joke”. Commentators that watch the fight and even when people watch fights with friends can sometimes subconsciously fall into group think and that can shape their interpretation of what they’re watching. Judges don’t get that advantage. It’s why some people (though not me) advocate that the 10-9 scoring system is archaic. There’s a measure for close rounds (where judges can score it 10-10), but it’s probably frowned upon to do that more than once in a fight, even if you have fights like Marquez-Pacquiao 1 and 2 where SEVERAL rounds are fought well consistently with both fighters.

The only fight you can legitimately say that one guy won in the Canelo-GGG trilogy is the last one. The first two are close.

      Klitschko-Ibragimov is easy to score.
      Mosley-Mayweather is easy to score.
      Pacquiao-Ledwaba is easy to score.

Apparently you got the Canelo-GGG fight scored the first time for GGG and that’s it. It’s a lock. As if there’s no way to get to a draw. I dunno about that.

You type a lot trying to justify your stance

The vast majority of fans had ggg winning the first canelo fight, its not rocket science, well it is for some people it seems

So you’ve never scored a fight one way, swore by it, and then on a second viewing, realized you maybe were generous?

Also, the majority of fans thought something like Kirkland-Angulo was fight of the year when they were watching it live, and then they realized it reality it was a one-sided drubbing.

The majority of people thought Marquez-Pacquiao 4 when it got made that it was pointless, and yet look what it gave us.

The majority thought GGG won, sure. I can see that. But saying “gift draw” for Canelo…? Meh.

There’s criteria in boxing, but the massive gaps in subjectivity are what cause scorecards to vary wildly in genuinely close fights, and then people wonder why boxing shoots itself in the foot.

Either accept different scorecards come with the territory, or shun boxing altogether.

To continue to watch boxing and then throughout years keep coming back to to cry robbery or gift draw is insanity.

It’s akin to eating food, saying it tastes bad, but then continuing to eat it.

                  Clear win for GGG.

                  Ok then…

You probably should apply for a judge’s license. You could clean the sport up and help avoid gift decisions and robberies.

Listen, we can go back n forth all day long but at the end of the day Canelo already a proven multi division champion and with a HOF career ,the man already paid his boxing dues and everything going forward is just a plus, win or lose. Benavidez yet has a LOT to prove still. Having said this, im still positive we'll see Canelo-Benavidez soon enough.
