Comments Thread For: Walk Away or Fight On? Devin Haney Confronts His Moment of Truth

The harshness of boxing has come upon Devin Haney this week in a way that has reached few others, but despite all the recent indignities he has faced, at just 25, Haney can be great again - if he wants to.

Hell no Haney is NOT fighting Sandor Martin! Give up the belt, If Haney loses to Martin he's done Sandor Martin not a comeback fight.

That 0 must mean everything to this guy. More than likely he'll never fight again. He doesn't want to have an official L and has no punch or chin .

If he drops his belt and takes a year off, nobody will be obligated to fight him when he comes back. He will have to get back in line.

Haney probably really needs a long break to recover from the damages that he incurred against Garcia. Jumping back in the ring too soon might end up being a mistake. Some boxers have returned too soon after a major beating and was never the same. Meldrick Taylor, Roy Jones Jr, Diego Corrales are some of the names that come to mind. To be honest, while he stutters, he already is showing signs of being punch drunk to me. A long layoff may give him the sort of refresher that he can use and need.

If Teo or Ennis hit that chin, they are dropping his ass. No one is scared of the feather fist punches. Would be great for Tank to get that fight at 140 since Haney is damage goods and we know Tanks likes low risk fights.

The beating, just like ******** stays there forever, haney-boy! You can't be un-beaten or un-****ed, that's the thing. Oh, you can have your record doctored back to undefeated, but that's pretty much ******* reconstruction surgery! Hey presto, you're a ****** again. But deep down you know you've been penetrated big time! Good luck, paper champion!

Damn, Haney is mentally done and out.

He will honestly get chit from crowds and people for the rest of his life for not taking his "loss" more gracefully.

Devin Haney could use a one year sabbatical if he wants to. He is entitled to it. Since becoming undisputed at lightweight. He has been on one Hell of a run. Kambosos 2x in Australia, Lomachenko, Prograis and Ryan Garcia. However, what is more sweeter though? He got his 0 back.
