He should do exhibition matches in the meantime.
Will Ryan Garcia come back?

Unfortunately human nature implores people to take every advantage afforded. Boxing is already dangerous with no chemicals involved, but does it actually become more dangerous with steroids? I question this assertion. Ethically what we have done is similar to when the military had a "don't ask, don't tell" policy for gay servicemen. The authorities pretend that the majority of fighters are not using enhancements to gain an edge... they pretend that punishment is a deterrent. It obviously is not and fighters obviously will try to get better anyway they can.
Ethically? We have a sports culture that will allow someone totally enhanced, to be a woman with a man's strength, to compete knowing the disadvantages for the other ladies. Yet when fighting professionally fighters are not even allowed normal preparations to heal injuries because they contain banned substances.
With education enhancements can be understood better, and steroids are only one class of nutritional efficiency agents. Of course there are other problems... Athletes coming up can hardly afford such regimes, thus creating advantages to established fighters.
Ultimately I think the Middle path is best. Have moren leniency but not total leniency. Try to let athletes take advantage of the best methods, but to a certain extreme. Perhaps one where those substances that create the most damage, the most inequality, etc are banned... And hopefully these correlate with the easiest substances to test for... that would solve a lot of problems!Comment

No. He will be back.
This feels like he getting in front of the PED suspension by saying he retired instead.
As Tank’s b-side, he contributed to 1.2 mil ppv sales. Any of the top 140-147lb fighters knows their best chance at a monster payday is Ryan, unless Tank moves up.
I also feel the business of Boxing needs and wants him still. Let's see how long the suspension is.
Yet I agree, he will definitely be back.Comment

Jake/Logan each have 26M followers on Insta alone. He may come back but Ryan has 12M and the absolute majority are not boxing fans. Taking into account that others have fewer followers and are rich, if Ryan wants to retire, he will continue to have a comfortable life.
Anyway, on social media drama and attention are important.
I strongly believe he will be back.
But yeah, he is well off without Boxing. I can see him in movies and entertainment industry.
I am sure the show business is salivating for him.Comment

He announced his “retirement” just before NYSAC is about to announce a suspension and likely change the Haney result to a NC.
I could see him not being able to come back from this. He’s not disciplined enough for the fight game at the highest level and time off may just make his personal issues worse.
He could be another What If? guy down the road.
Yet I do see him coming back. The money and attention are too good for him to just leave behind.
