Only really Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Uysk should maybe be made favourite's against him 'I think David Tua would be stylistically a difficult fight for Uysk, as Tua has the specific attributes and style of fighting to apply serious pressure on Uysk'.

Tyson Fury's innately clumsiness, tendency to make technical mistakes and produce unforce error's 'Also makes the fight vs David Tua a potentially extremely difficult fight'.

If there is one fighter who I would back to beat David Tua out of all modern era Heavyweights 'That fighter would be Anthony Joshua. Joshua is the only current active Heavyweight who is a double jeopardy threat, meaning? Anthony Joshua is not only one of the most component and proven pure boxers at Heavyweight, he is also rated as one of the most proven power punchers in the Division 'No other Heavyweight fighter can claim simultaneously that they are that level of threat, only Anthony Joshua'.

Note: Deontay Wilder was fortunate that he appeared within the Heavyweight Division in this modern era 'Wilder would of found it extremely difficult in past Heavyweight era's to become a WBC World Heavyweight Champion, then make 10 defenses of that title mainly relying predominately upon his single punch power'.

David Tua had power, durability, endurance, and fundamentally he was quite a solid boxer 'That still was not enough for him to win a World title, and achieve multiple title defenses. That statistics pretty much describes the difference in Heavyweight boxing era's, and what was required to be a top level Heavyweight and then to stay at that level'.

David Tua on a fight by fight basis, has a great resume 'His resume is most likely better than Deontay Wilder's and not far off Tyson Fury's in terms of calibre. Overall I believe he would of been a extremely dangerous Heavyweight within this modern era. There are not many Heavyweights that I would back to beat him for sure, only the fighters that I have spoken about in this thread' etc.
Tua was shut out of a title fight in his prime years and got one shot against Lewis for the lineal belt and was too heavyset and immobile to trouble Lewis who boxed Tua similar to a sparring partner.

If Tua got his shot against a weak champion such as Stiverne he would have blown him out and strung together defenses similar to Wilder if he was matched softly like Wilder was less Ortiz and Fury.

Tua beat Maskaev, Rahman, Izon and a few other opponents who were all tougher than the typical Wilder challenger. Even his fight against the bat s&^t crazy Ibeabuchi I thought he did enough for the win but this was another opponent tougher than any Wilder opponent less probably Fury.
    LowKeyFresh LowKeyFresh likes this.

He definitely can be outboxed by the top guys in the division now. Of course, he had that left hook which is essentially a puncher's chance against anyone.
Yep, Tua never mentioned the injury because he didn't want to make excuses but his team stated there was a rib injury suffered during sparring in camp and it never fully healed. Lewis cracked him early in the same spot and, most likely, altered the nature of the contest.

I like Tua but he lost to most of the top guys he faced. Lewis, Byrd, Ibeabuchi and on. He beat a green Ruiz, Rahman, Maskaev, past it Moorer. But there is a class above that and he couldn't find the mark with his short stature punches.

Wilder's long height and reach allowed him to set up his power punches in this era in a way that I don't see Tua delivering.

            Styles make fights.

Tua is a stylistic nightmare for Usyk, people will act like Usyk would fight like Ali, Bob and weave and make Tua miss but the reality is that is not Usyk's style at all, he wouldn't be able to help himself but mix it up with Tua and he would get badly hurt. Tua can match his workrate, match his handspeed, won't get tired, wont be hurt by Usyk's punches, he's just all wrong for Usyk who doesn't have a dramatic height advantage over Tua either.

AJ and Fury would have a solid shout of being able to do something similar to what Lewis did because they are very tall backfoot boxers which is the style Lewis used, but Tua has a solid punchers chance vs both.
