Kudos to Paro for fighting a disciplined fight. He stayed away from the slugfest, which is really easy to get into after a guy like Matias stings you with one of his power shots. Paro was stung a lot last night, but he remained calm, grabbed when he had to grab and moved when he had to move. Make no mistake about it, Paro is aching this morning. He took a beating at the hands of Matias, but the one thing he didn’t do was risk getting seriously wobbled by a shot. That’s the mistake others made. Matias is there to be hit, but that’s Fool’s Gold to think you’re going to stop him. Not the way you fight an animal like Matias.
Matias needs to fight behind the jab against a guy like Paro. Too many times he was trying to chase the kid instead of working on closing the gap and stinging him with the jab. He had to be first. The problem with power punchers like Matias is they think EVERYONE will fold under his pressure. That’s what his corner was telling him between the 4th and 5th round. They told him nobody could stand up to his pressure. Well, that wasn’t good strategy. Yes, it worked for him in the past, but last night he faced a guy who wasn’t going to mix it up with him. He also wasn’t going to sit on his own punches to try and hurt Matias. He was good with hitting him and getting ready for the return. When you sit on your shots, you leave yourself open for the return more often than not.
Another great fight. Hopefully these two will give us another fight. It was definitely entertaining and in the truest of boxing “fights” no one came out with any brain damage. They both entertained the crowd and we can’t ask for more than that.

The only difference is we praise Paro for boxing (which we should) but we would've criticized Haney (runner chicken huggies). Which one is it Haney vs Paro will, according to you guys, will be a snoozefest like Haney vs Kambo. Matias is pleasing to watch but easy work for a boxer. One of my fav fighters over the last decade was Jarrett Hurd. Nobody had a more fan friendly style than him. Although be beat Lara, Trout, Harrison and others the damage they inflicted on him becuase of his lack of defense eventually took its toll and now he's nowhere to be found.

The lowest of the low 5-1 underdog and he walked out of the ring el rey. I'll give Haney his credit as a road warrior, but I think Matias was the tougher assignment. Comparisons, Boots? Paro has much more gonads, hunting giants.BustedKnuckles likes this.
