The referee was just horrible and should never work a fight again if he can’t be impartial to the home town fighter, what a disgrace that was watching him throughout the fight and Paro was fighting two people at the same dammm time.

U and I are on the same page about this referee who was just terrible and I agree he shouldn’t work fights if you can’t be impartial to a hometown fighter. Go sit your ass down somewhere!Paro won clearly , the referee was absolutely terrible and should have his licence taken .You can't knock everyone out and this display of angles and boxing was only spoilt by the referee trying to turn the fight by consistently being unfairly on Paro's case from the start. .....disgraceful , but in the end to no avail!Comment

Matias didn't fight the wrong fight. He has a great one-dimension, as a plodder, but with that limitation, once you use foot movement on him, you take away his ability to plant his feet and he has to reset every single time, which was countless times last night. Timing and movement cuts down the effectiveness of a plodding/volume style. Up to this point his other opponents stood in front of him. Not Paro who had a powerful, accurate and highly educated left hand to the head and body. Matias holds his gloves up well but does not use head-movement. And his one-dimension certainly does not include using any angles at all. He needs to make some changes but most likely will revert to what works for him, that's his sink or swim style that works most of the time, and he often swims. He will have to avoid fighters with good footwork and timing or fight ones that don't excel at that.I’ve always said this.. don’t know why but Puerto Rican fighters freeze up in their home town lights.. happened to an unbeaten miguel cotto versus demarcus chop chop Corley.. at that time Corley almost derailed the cotto train scary moment. But Matias just fought the wrong fight as well as he was hoping paro would stand flat footed and just give him the toe to toe action.. gotta be ready for plan a-b-cLast edited by richardt; 06-16-2024, 10:38 AM.Comment
