It defies me how anyone would want Ellerbe as a promoter. He's genuinely incompetent at the job.
At the Tank v Martin press conference Ellerbe was trash talking Martin about how Tank is levels above and would beat him. Ellerbe doesn't even realise after being in the game so long that his job is to try and sell the event. His job is to make the fight sound competitive, so people buy it. People ain't gonna buy the PPVs if the promoter is telling them it's a mismatch and denigrating the opponent's chances of winning. Any smart fighter wants a promoter who can sell and maximise their revenue.
Even Hearn and Warren in their 5 v 5 caveated all their predictions of their fighters winning by emphasising they were 50/50 fights to make people want to buy the event.
