I don't think that it would be a bad idea for Spence to get out now while he's ahead. He's been through a lot physically and seems like he might never regain his health 100%. I understand wanting to get revenge or redemption versus Crawford. I don't think that he can do it though , Crawford is just better by a lot. I don't think that a rematch is necessary , nor commercially viable. I would rather not see him get brutalized like he was by Crawford again.

Promoter of one fighter can't establish you as a full-pledged promoter.
And promoters don't make a lot of money these days. Ask Floyd Jr.
Fighters are too greedy and it's crumbs that is left for promoters to take.

he strung Crawford along for 6 months. Why? If he knew he was having surgery why not come clean? Everybody wanted to know when the rematch was happening. Not one word out of Spence's camp for 6 months. He's a punk.

I don't expect Frank Martin to stick around with Spence when Errol himself can't stick with his trainer because of money issues. That is even if Frank beats Davis. Why would he?

Boxing isn't football. It's not like if you like one fighter, you have to hate everybody else. I am a fan of Crawford and Spence. I favored Errol because I thought eventually he would impose his will. He was the naturally bigger guy. But it was still a 50/50 fight which proved to be wrong. Crawford dominated Spence. Spence did not look like the same guy and it appeared lifestyle, past fight, injuries caught up to him. Both things can be be true. Spence is in a similar situation as Devin Haney. Where does he go from here? If not Crawford, Boots?? I don't favor him against the top guys at 154. He had a great career. He is a guy that doesn't take tune ups but is possibly compromised at this juncture to compete at the elite levels. You don't take punches promoting.

Much ado about nothing. Fighters nowadays have lots of options. I don't see Martin staying with Spence for long, especially if he even looked competitive with Davis let alone wins. Martin himself can start his own promotion company. Not that hard to do.

It's not only Spence that started having promotional options. There's Swift Garcia, About Billions Broner, Lions Only Charlos, etc, etc. It's what Haymon instructed them to do so that they can have the extra money usually given to Dibella and others.

                  Rematch was not gonna happen.
