I remember when ESPN added Iran Barkley to their commentary team not too many years ago. It was sad to watch, he had been long gone prior to hiring him. I saw him at a IBHOF weekend and got an autograph, he was glassy eyed and obviously brain damaged at that time.
"Ain't got time to bleed", as told to his corner men just before knocking Hearns out, remains one hell of a quote

The one I was sure would become brain-damaged is Andrew Golota. But if one watches his current state, he looks pretty good.
On the other hand, George Chuvalo was considered for decades an incredible example of toughness without apparent damage. But, in the end, he too succumbed to dementia. The following is an article about him from last year:
