He looks closer to average to me. Like Felix Verdejo was visibly more talented than this dude.
In defense of Xander Zayas, this was his best opponent to date, and Tiexiera was a former world champion.
He's also a big 154 having fought as high as 167 1/2, and in the fight before Xander 164 1/2, so who knows how much he outweighed Xander on fight night.
Tiexiera has only been knocked out once in 39 fights, and that was by Curtis Stevens who was a murderous puncher, eight years ago.
That said Xander had his foe hurt a few times during their fight, and could've gotten the stoppage if he had pressed him on one of those given moments.
What will be key to watch is who Xander fights next, and how he looks in that fight.
Xander will remember all of the stinging remarks about being boring, not being as good as fans, and experts thought he would be.
Those negative remarks will will motivate him further, and awaken more of a killer instinct in his fighting style.
I believe that the best is yet to come from young Xander, and that he has a very bright future in the sport of boxing. Stay tuned!!!
