Xander's youthful spirit, speed, boxing IQ, and the roar of the crowd will rule the day in this fight.
Those intangibles coupled with his focus, discipline, and dedication to his chosen sport, will be an insurmountable force for Patrick to overcome.
To top it all off, Xander is speaking with a lot more conviction during his interviews, what was once a dream, is now becoming more of a reality in his mind.
We should see this on full display when they battle it out for ring supremacy, and a higher rating in their division's ranking.
I want to see him succeed, we need new stars but this guy is no push over. If Zayas wins he will be on the right track for bigger and better things.

I sort of understand what you're saying, but Tiexeira's three fight winning streak were against 2nd, or 3rd rate fighters.
I know that you've got to stay busy to remain relevant in this sport, but I don't see how those types of opponent's help prepare him for fighters like Zayas.
I can see Tiexeira giving Zayas a tough fight, but Zayas' skill's, and will to succeed will best his 12 year's older opponent.
I haven't seen Xander stung yet, and although Patrick might sting him, he won't wing him. Xander should be able to do both to Patrick.

Teixeira is a nice step-up opponent for Xander..on paper at least. At his best, he was always game for a scrap even if he was outgunned. Only time he wasn't durable was when he went up in weight against Stevens.

If the Brazilian still has something left in the tank I think he will give Zander some good rounds at the very least.

I'm just wondering where all the whiny babies who complained that Zayas and Anderson aren't being tested are?

When did everyone turn on Zayas? For a minute, he was supposed to be the PR face of boxing when Berlanga didn't pan out.

He's no Trinidad or Cotto in the power department , but I'll bet that he stops Teixeria.

If Xander delivers and flattens Teixeira, I'd like to see the post-fight interview in the ring ask him about the "no power" thing.

Also, for a country the size of Brazil, and their huge impact on the MMA world, I always find it curious that boxing isn't a much bigger sport there than it appears to be. The last Brazilian boxing champ I remember having a significant impact on the world stage was Popo Freitas and that was a long time ago.
                    What's up with that?
Who has time for fighting with a country full of gorgeous Brazilian women sashaying about ?
