I know that you've got to stay busy to remain relevant in this sport, but I don't see how those types of opponent's help prepare him for fighters like Zayas.
I can see Tiexeira giving Zayas a tough fight, but Zayas' skill's, and will to succeed will best his 12 year's older opponent.
I haven't seen Xander stung yet, and although Patrick might sting him, he won't wing him. Xander should be able to do both to Patrick.Last edited by Boricua181; 06-06-2024, 12:58 PM.Comment

Teixeira is a nice step-up opponent for Xander..on paper at least. At his best, he was always game for a scrap even if he was outgunned. Only time he wasn't durable was when he went up in weight against Stevens.
If the Brazilian still has something left in the tank I think he will give Zander some good rounds at the very least.Comment

OK, that was a short but interesting interview.
If Xander delivers and flattens Teixeira, I'd like to see the post-fight interview in the ring ask him about the "no power" thing.
Also, for a country the size of Brazil, and their huge impact on the MMA world, I always find it curious that boxing isn't a much bigger sport there than it appears to be. The last Brazilian boxing champ I remember having a significant impact on the world stage was Popo Freitas and that was a long time ago.
What's up with that?Comment
