  • Comments Thread For: Hearn Tips Fisher For British Title Tilt If He Beats Babic

I like Fisher but I hope that he doesn't underestimate Babic. Babic is not elite fighter but he is throwing a lot of punches, big volume if Fisher doesn't get careful he could have a lot of problems. He should be able to KO Babic.

Babic can be hurt, but he hits too hard for a novice like Fisher. I think this fight will show Fisher's level - if he wins well it could be onwards and upwards but I don't see it. A ko win for the Savage by the 7th!

These are the kind of fights I like, where I don't feel I'm being ripped off by greedy promoters or Saudi "Excellencies", and where you know both guys are likely to bring it because they both have ambition and pride. I'll be watching. The truth-machine of the squared circle will sort out who makes progress based on performance and less so on politics.

I don't know. I think it's a great matchup that could go either way. I favour Fisher for his size and power. Babic will invite a tear up but remember, he got KO'd by Rozanski who's smaller than Johnny.

You got ripped off by the Saudi fights but Babic vs Fisher is a big time match up in comparison is it? Absolute lunacy.

Of course it's not. It's a club level fight, but I still like it for all the right reasons. No expectations of championship level talent, but desire and toughness are good enough.

This should be a fun fight. Has anyone been to the Copper Box? It's a small venue and was wondering if you still get a good view from the cheap seats.

What's your gripe about the Saudi cards?

Some of the most enjoyable cards I have seen are at this level (or even below)...maybe because it's the lack of expectations. Give me a regional level fight between some local rivals and I'm all for it. Years ago, matchups like Scott Pemberton/Omar Sheila, Stephanie Oullette/Davey Hilton and Dana Rosenblatt/Vinny Pazienza were what made me love boxing.

Regarding this fight, it's interesting because we know what Babic is. No defense, not much skill but throws bombs with mean intentions. He's there to be hit and hurt and also hurt you.

We don't know what Fisher is. He's a big, strong guy but he's looked pretty raw and pedestrian every fight I've seen him. If Fisher has any legitimate potential, he should defeat Babic (and he should probably do it fairly easily). I don't have enough faith in Fisher's skills to expect him to do that though.
