All of these sanctioning bodies are so far apart with their rankings. Usyk should be allowed to rematch Fury, I would think IBF could make more off sanctioning fees on a rematch than any other fight.

Imagine being David Morrell and being mandatory to Canelo since January 2021 and WBA refusing to order your shot, then IBF orders theirs as soon as you accept a fight at 175...

Dillian Whyte had a longer wait as well, at 1634 days. Almost 4.5 years. Whenever Tyson Fury is involved, multi year waits for a shot are basically guaranteed.

Good for him. It’s ridiculous people are forcing him to vacate, just so other fighters like Aj and hrgovic can get free handouts. Usyk earned the belt the hard way, I hope he sticks to this and keeps the belt

Dubois is now the interim champion... If IBF strips Usyk, who already stopped Dubois, to email Dubois a belt he couldn't take in the ring... Yeah, that's a CRAP look.

I suspect IBF will have no choice now but to grant the exception here. How do you strip the belt from the champ to give it without a fight to the guy who already lost to the champ in the ring?

Whyte wasn't mandatory that entire time. There's a difference between being #1 and being mandatory for the WBC. You're just conveniently forgetting that he refused WBC final eliminators with Breazeale and Ortiz, then failed a PED test and got suspended, then got knocked out by Povetkin and won the rematch in that "1634 days" you mentioned (and, also, he turned down an IBF final eliminator against Pulev and a WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO world title shot against Joshua in that same span of time).

The fact that he was even still #1 after all of that by the time the Fury fight rolled around shows that they actually went out of their way to do favors to Whyte. Usually when you turn down an eliminator you lose your spot in the rankings. Instead they kept offering him weaker and weaker opponents until he finally accepted one (Rivas), then he failed a drug test, then he got knocked out by a 500 year old fighter, then they still let him get his mandatory status back by winning the rematch.

Absolutely sick of people pretending like Dillian Whyte, the 4X PED cheat who turned down a unified title shot and ducked 3 eliminators (that we know of), got a raw deal.

Not trying to say that at all. My point is that when Tyson Fury is in the mix, spending years as mandatory is not uncommon at all. I'm making no claims as to whether or not Whyte got a raw deal. Fury has been holding up the division for years.

Fury had nothing to do with Whyte's nonsense, though. Wilder was WBC champion for most of that time and Whyte would've had a shot at him three times over if he just did what the WBC told him to do.

You can blame Fury for a lot of things but he had crap to do with Whyte's situation. It was all entirely self-inflicted. All Fury did to him was light him up with an uppercut (like Joshua... and Povenkin... and Rivas did).
