If Usyk did not score that knockdown it would have been a majority draw because that 115 112 could have been 114 114 if they had fury winning that round. So that one punch was the difference in the fight

Really good fight. Several moves ahead is just ridiculous he won a close split. Disrespectful to all involved

And it's not like it was one shot... Usyk hit him with good left hands from the first round.

The Tyson Fury bias in boxing is next level. Fury was somehow saved by the referee in round 9 like he has been saved by the judges numerous times before. The referee stepped in and stopped Usyk from hurting him in round 9 which is a stoppage.

And it's one of the most important fights in recent times stopping it because he's reeling a bit when he's known for his powers of recovery is a crazy thing to be advocating especially in a fight of this magnitude.
"An official knockdown is ruled in boxing when a fighter is punched and:
a) a part of his/her body other than the feet touch the canvas (such as his butt or glove)
b) when a fighter is being held up by the ropes (i.e. the fighter would have fallen had the ropes not been there)
c) when a fighter is hanging on, through or over the ropes and
d) cannot protect himself and, for whatever reason, is lodged on a position where he can't fall
A slip or fall to the canvas by a boxer, resulting in any of the above conditions, is not a knockdown."Last edited by Boro; 05-19-2024, 07:07 PM.Thunderous1

If i was a die hard Fury fan I could even claim the Ref done Usyk a favour by not calling a KD earlier and prolonging the beating Fury was taking because he was reeling and falling all over with 20 seconds to kept by the ropes with 13 seconds left in the round.
At which point he'd been held up once already according to DAZNs in fight clock with 9 seconds left remaining is when he was in the corner and the ref actually gave him the count.Last edited by Boro; 05-19-2024, 07:22 PM.crimsonfalcon07 likes this.

We’ve seen fights stopped for way less drama than we saw last night. That battering was worthy of a stoppage. That wasn’t a one punch drop like wilder did that has people claiming this incredible recuperation powers like fury is some super hero. He’s a 35 year old man that go clobbered over and over again to the point he came tumbling to the corner what saved him was the ref being between him and Usyk and Usyk being called off from doing even more damage in that sequence. Doesn’t matter anyway, the right man won and all fury got for it being let go longer is more punches to the head.Last edited by turnedup; 05-19-2024, 08:35 PM.Calibre .223

Usyk adjusted, stayed busy, they both threw beautifully projected punches and combos. Both men did it. It could have definitely been a fair stoppage in Round 9.

I gave Fury 6 rounds including the 12th round. The KD was key. Both fighters gave a good account of themselves
