  • Comments Thread For: Can the Charlo Brothers Get Back on Track?

It was a night like no other nearly eight years ago, when Jermall Charlo retained his IBF junior-middleweight belt with a unanimous decision over Austin Trout and twin brother Jermell rallied to knock out John Jackson in the eighth round to capture the WBC's 154-pound belt.

I think these guys are going to enjoy their money until it starts running out, then try to come back when they are past it. At least Jermell had a decent career and made big money. Nobody will forget his coward's stand against Canelo. Jermall? I hope he invested his money. He has easy to make fights at 168, but he's apparently too chicken to fight Plant or Benavidez.

The have to get help with whatever substance of alcohol they are taking and a mental health regimen. It might be to late to make another significant run.

i think charlo could go on another epic wbc run, he may not even have to fight for the belt itself, suli may actually just give it to him if he begs hard enough

Maybe it's the fact they were always bums, but it just surfaced recently? Just throwing this out there..

Made a thread about Jermall Charlo years ago peppered with videos
showing how he's calling out fighters he never intended to fight.
Jacobs, GGG, Benavidez, Andrade, Canelo, etc.

Looking back it's timeless as ever. Things didn't change for him.
It even got worse like not fighting for more than 2 years waiting around...

                  Jermell vs world titlists:
W vs Joachim Alcine TKO 6
L vs Tony Harrison UD 12
W vs Tony Harrison TKO 11
W vs Jeison Rosario KO 8
D vs Brian Castano SD 12
W vs Brian Castano KO 10
L vs Canelo Alvarez UD 12

Other notable victories: Austin Trout (WBA Regular champ), Erickson Lubin, Vanes Martirosyan (3X world title challenger), Gabe Rosado, John Jackson

                  Jermall vs world titlists:
W vs Cornelius Bundrage KO 3
W vs Julian Williams KO 5

Other notable victories: Austin Trout, Mat Korobov (robbery), Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Jose Benavidez Jr.

I don't know how you can say Jermell was a bum. He's a clown now, and he deserved an L in the first Castano fight, but he fought some good competition and got some good wins before he cashed out against Canelo.

Jermall, he had a good run at 154. But his run at 160 was shameful and he absolutely deserves to be dunked on for it.
