    No…

The Charlo Brothers like Eriol Spence are posters for the low ceiling achieved by the PBC business model. Talented but incomplete fighters who fought very infrequently, often in showcase fights, yet were paid and feted as if they had the drawing power of De La Hoya in his prime.

Now that PBC has only PPVs as Amazon is not paying licensing fees and neither brother can carry a PPV on their own, they will be forced to become undercard fighters for the resulting far more limited purses, they will both likely refuse and never be heard from again other than perhaps to get KOFo’d by David Benedez when Canelo when the distance with Charlo

I don't know how you can say Jermell was a bum. He's a clown now, and he deserved an L in the first Castano fight, but he fought some good competition and got some good wins before he cashed out against Canelo.

Jermall, he had a good run at 154. But his run at 160 was shameful and he absolutely deserves to be dunked on for it.
I was mostly referring to their character. Their shiatty attitude, their arrogance and being so self complacent. Like bums in Rap videos. It's no surprise so many disliked them and are happy about their downfall.

Good question. No one has the answer except them.

At this stage of their careers it's catch-22 for them, imho. They certainly don't need low-paying, undercard tuneup fights, which are basically just waste of time. After the tuneup, then what, wait for another six months minimum before the next fight comes along? And tuneups sometimes can cause problems or unexpected results. In other words, they still entail risks and not performing well is just as bad as losing.

Only big fights are appropriate for them. But then which big fight can they get with this so much inactivity on their part? Clock is ticking and they're not getting any younger.

They can still make some cash. Probably not big enough to get motivated.

Maybe Jermell could do ok in the barren wasteland of 160. Jermall is finished though. He isn't coming back from the booze and mental health issues.

That's a sensible way to describe their current situation. Tuneups seem a waste of time at this late stage of their boxing careers.
