Benny is the one that must prove himself. Canelo is a veteran with 60+ pro fights. I only blame WBC for not stripping him. But I understand, they just want the money from his fights. Canelo is the cash cow, it is what it is.

If Benavidez is as good as they say, he will unify 175 anyway, right?
I have no problem if Canelo is facing fighters like Bivol or Beterbiev instead of Benavidez.

Charlo and Munguia were both questionable choices over Benavidez, though. Both were at least good fighters, but Benavidez was much more accomplished and higher ranked at 168 specifically.

However, there's absolutely no defense for Canelo if he chooses to fight Berlanga next. Berlanga is completely untested and has no notable victories to his name. Rolls, Quigley, and Angulo? C'mon.

He also ducked an IBF eliminator against Pulev in the same timespan.

By the time Whyte finally got his title shot against Fury Ortiz had already had two title shots, Pulev had his, and Breazeale had his. Whyte never had anybody but himself to blame.
      Exactly right.

Shut up man, how old are you? You just can't be an adult. The guy is a pu$$y, Morell jr has been his mandatory for the longest and he hasn't mention the guy, he choose less money to fight a 2nd tier guy instead of benavidez. What is it matter with you guys? You can't be this in love with a guy that doesn't care about his fans.

No because he had fights line up that were higher priority unlike Canelo.

he needs to stop digging up opponents from the graveyard and fight someone with a pulse... the fans want him to fight benavidez so thats who he should fight, it is a spectator sport which he gets paid very nicely for competing in

It's a huge red flag when a fighters fan base is claiming that his mandatory of 3 years must "prove himself" in order to fight for a title, that he's already has the right to,while not keeping up the same energy with other fighters. Why the **** should David have to beat Bivol or Artur to get a canelo fight, when mungia beat ****ing Ryder for the Undisputed 168 shot. Make it make sense.

                      Its not unfair at all.

                      1. Canelo claims to be the best. Both p4p and also at 168 pounds. You can not claim to be the best while refusing to prove it by fighting the best.

                      2. Benavidez is the mandatory for the WBC, EIther Canelo fights him or he should be stripped by WBC's own rules (but he wont be because they are corrupt).

All Canelo has to do to not fight Benavidez is give up his belts and stop calling himself the best, then he is in the clear. As of right now he is a fraud and hypocrite
