By the way, along with drug bans JBC has a rule where you can get punished via the suspension of the boxing license by XX month to over a year when you miss weight. Daigo Higa got struck by it and the Japanese featherweight prospect that fought a few weeks ago got it too. In Nery's case given that he first broke the drug rule, he also came in significantly overweight the second time if he was a Japanese boxer under JBC rules he would've gotten his license terminated.Comment

A general assessment for those who are trying to downplay the Japanese champion. Joe Louis was dropped by Tony Galento, Ray Leonard was dropped by Underdog Kevin Howard, Ali was dropped by Henry Cooper, beaten by a novice with only 7 fights on his resume in Leon Spinks, Holmes was dropped by Renaldo Snipes and Mike Weaver, Holyfield by Bert Cooper and the list goes on and on.......yet all of these men are rightfully considered legendary Hall of Famers. Inoue gets dropped by Nery from being reckless, doesn't make him a lesser fighter than Crawford, who himself was dropped by mean Machine. Did Crawford getting dropped by mean machine, make him a lesser fighter?? Inoue suffering a broken eye socket against a still competitive Donaire makes him just an OK fighter? George Foreman at 40 years old gave Holyfield a hard fight that went the distance. An old Pacquiao dropped and beat a young in his prime power hitting Thurman. Sonny Liston had his jaw broken by a journeyman fighter when Sonny was in his prime and tearing up the top ten like nobody else ever did since. Does that make Sonny overrated?? So the argument attempting to be made that A hard fight with Donaire and a flash knockdown by Nery somehow makes Inoue a lesser fighter than Crawford and of all people the still ducking from Pitbull Cruz ➡️ Tank Davis, makes absolutely zero sense and comes across AGAIN like IGNORANT Fanboy talk. And Crawford definitely doesn't belong on the same sentence with Pacquiao for one simple reason. Pacquiao has a MASSIVELY SUPERIOR resume than Crawfords thin one by a country mile. Eric Morales 3x, Marco Antonio Barrera 2x, Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez 4xs, Timothy Bradley 3xs, Floyd Mayweather, Keith Thurman, Adrian Broner, Oscar Delahoya.....and several others and was actually preparing for Errol Spence until Spence suffered an eye injury. And Pacquiao also captured 8 weight division titles. Now while to be fair I feel that this era has far too many paper titles and divisions making it easier for a fighter to hold some belt, EIGHT weight classes nonetheless is phenomenal and simply unheard of. Pacquiao also faced adversity several times and proved his mettle. Crawford has yet to be in a HARD dog fight where we can see if he can really take what he dishes out. And beating a compromised Errol Spence just isn't a good rebuttal when you look at the fact that Pacquiao holds wins over 5 Hall of Famers and gave as good as he got often winning. When you fight guys who can compete with you then we see what the REAL deal is with a MARQUEE fighter. And Tank Davis definitely should NEVER be mentioned in the same zip code let alone same sentence with a Manny Pacquiao. I have to say you can always tell who the ONES are who don't know BOXING like the SHOULD know it.Comment

Finally got around to seeing it, really impressive win. Had a little 1st rd scare got caught cold but pretty much took over breaking Nery down for the next few rds for that last nasty kd that ended the fight. Inoue's speed, placement, and accuracy is fantastic to watch.Comment

It meant enough to Nery and his promoter/manager to actually send a formal request to have it lifted. He would've lost out on millions if it was kept...though I won't have minded Nery getting a beatdown without getting the money but that is besides the point.
