I called it a mismatch pre-fight. It truly is. But Nery actually ended up doing a little better than I expected. But he just best a top 10 guy at his weight class. Look at who’s #1 and #2 ranked by The Ring, Fulton and Tapales, who he already destroyed. Nery is #5.
Who do you fight next? Keep going down the list? makes no sense. He just fought the best of the weight class and stopped them. He’s done with 122.
But it looks like he’s fighting Goodman then MJ next. I’d say those are probably even more mismatch worthy than the Nery fight. Nery is a decent name, I’ll say that thoughComment

That's not an argument.
#10 Ryoichi Taguchi UD 10
#1 Adrian Hernandez TKO 6
#1 Omar Narvaez KO 2
#8 Kohei Kono TKO 6
#5 Jamie McDonnell TKO 1
#5 Juan Carlos Payano KO 1
#6 Emmanuel Rodriguez KO 2
#4 Nonito Donaire UD 12
#8 Jason Moloney KO 7
#2 Nonito Donaire TKO 2
#8 Paul Butler KO 11
#1 Stephen Fulton TKO 8
#2 Marlon Tapales KO 10
#3 Luis Nery TKO 6
Hernandez, Narvaez, Donaire, Fulton, and Tapales were all the top rated fighter (or 2nd rated with Inoue himself #1) in their division at the time Inoue beat them. Those were all fantastic wins and anyone who tries to minimize them is a clown.
He could fight 100 top 10 ranked opponents. He still wouldn’t have a resume like most ATG’s.
Like a Floyd, Pac, Canelo, Oscar, B Hop, RJJ etc. and certainly not the level of wins.
Quality. Not quantity.Comment
