Canelo did take the foot off the accelerator a couple of times. Munguia was badly hurt to the body and some headshots wobbled him. It appeared at times if Canelo would had gone for it would had stopped him. Munguia kept trying to win even when hurt, Canelo said to his corner during the fight that he sees Munguia's punches.

The question is will be Munguia be the same after this. He has been taking and took a lot of big punches.

Casual fans don’t understand how getting aggressive will get you caught.

I’ve always been sort of neutral about Canelo, but what I saw last night was a precise and calculated beating that stemmed from a smart gameplan. Say what you want about Saul, he is a LOT of things, but he’s also a very good fighter with superior (though understated) ring IQ. He’s not the wizard he’s made out to be, but from the perspective of punch selection, he’s one of the smartest still in the game. And a legendary chin. I have no idea if he beats Benavidez because of stamina issues, but I’d put money on Canelo making David look silly, whether or not he survives the Benavidez onslaught.

I don't know if Canelo resisted stopping Jaime Munguia, but he sure did resist accepting a fight with David Benavidez.
I'm sick and tired of him saying that he can do what ever he want's, even the pro Canelo crowd booed him when he didn't commit to fighting Benavidez.

Mungia got beat up to hell by Derev. We saw what happens when a guy tries to go in for the KO on Mungia, he gets knocked down. Canelo fought smart, and careful. Mungia is not a good fighter.

At this point Canelo gets pummeled by Benavidez and likely badly hurt or stopped. And he loses to Bud by decision. He never was the killer he was made out to be, but he was alot better just a few years ago.

I see him teasing the fans by dangling Benavidez in front of them, then fighting ****ty Berlanga and retiring.

He also resisted knocking out Ryder, who was clearly ready to fall over several times. He did this because....well.....yeah, that just doesn't make any sense.

I agree for the most part, but that last round seemed a little weird.

I think Munguia is soft to the body. Whenever Canelo touched him there his hands would drop. Other boxers will pick up on that and will capitalize. I was never impressed with Munguia and it remains the same. He’s more of a brawler than he is a boxer.
I questioned why a seasoned fighter like Canelo did not insist on going for the body since I’m sure he noticed Munguia was bothered by it; that’s the part that has me thinking that he carried him.
